On May 30, 2008, the Board of Directors of the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce unanimously voted to oppose a proposed Ohio constitutional amendment on the November ballot that mandated paid sick leave. Today, September 4th, we were advised by the Ohio Chamber that supporters of the amendment have agreed to pull it from the November ballot. This is great news for Ohio businesses and our economy.

The Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors reluctantly accepted the resignation and retirement of its President/CEO, Barb Zajbel, at the July 25, 2008 Board Meeting. The retirement will be effective November 1, 2008, until which time Barb Is on medical leave.
