Xenia City Council Appoints Law Director

Xenia, Ohio (July 14, 2017)  Xenia City Council approved the hiring of Donnette Fisher as Law Director for the City, replacing Josh Schierloh who resigned to accept a position in private law practice.

Fisher spent the last fifteen years of her career as a full-time Law Director, working four years as Law Director for the City of Eaton, Ohio and eleven years for the City of Franklin, Ohio.

Fisher, a native of Northeast Ohio, is a graduate of the College of Wooster, earning a BA degree in Political Science.  She attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1997.   She began her career at the Preble County Prosecutor’s Office, where she worked four years handling both civil and criminal matters before being hired by the City of Eaton.

Fisher has extensive and varied experience in both municipal law and criminal law.

“Ms. Fisher brings very strong municipal law experience to the City of Xenia”, said Xenia City Council President Michael Engle.  “Her experience in prosecutorial as well as municipal administrative law will greatly benefit the citizens and employees of Xenia as we strive to provide the highest level of service in a rapidly growing city,” added Engle.

Fisher stated, “I am pleased to join the City of Xenia and its team of municipal professionals and I look forward to serving this community and adding to a community squarely focused on growth, quality-of-life, and economic development efforts that will further Xenia’s goal to become an even more desirable place to live than it is now.”
