Wendy Talkington, aka WendyBird, is a mother of 4, local yoga teacher and business owner. She has recently earned her 500 hr Yoga mastery through Happy Jack University and has a bachelor in Secondary Education from Ohio University.

Wendy’s passions are vintage clothing and yoga, as well as seeking her truth in this world and helping others find theirs. Wendy started selling her vintage clothing on line through her business, WendyBird Shop, in 2017. She has built a large following on Poshmark, Etsy, and Marketplace. She did this while being a single mom to her oldest son, and running a bank as a branch manager. Yoga was her only healthy outlet. In and out of relationships, churches, circles of friends, drugs and alcohol, she was left still feeling empty and unfulfilled. After practicing yoga asana for 16 years, she decided to dive deeper into her practice and joined Happy Jack University in pursuit of her 200 hr., purely to learn more about yoga. This was a game changer for her life path.

Divorced 3 times now with one teenager and 3 small children, still working at the bank, Wendy knew she was not living her dharma, or her life path. In Early February 2022, Wendy decided to throw caution to the wind and quit her corporate America job of 18 years and rely solely on WendyBird Shop and building a career in yoga.

Enter Beth Fletcher to the story. The very next day after quitting her job, the mother to one of her oldest sons friends reached out to her on FB and asked if she taught yoga. Beth was opening a holistic healing center in Xenia focusing primarily on building a community for women. She was looking for a yoga teacher to join her team at Mystic Life in Xenia. All in, Wendy and a group of women brought their talents and desires to be healers together with Beth, and after many set backs, hard work, learning and much love and patience, opened the doors to Mystic Life in November of 2022.

Mystic Life is a center for local artists, artisans, healers, and seekers to join together. We have yoga classes, reiki healing, a boutique full of art and clothing from local artists, tarot readings, art classes, lectures, and so much more. In Spring of 2023, they will be opening a hair salon and this is just the beginning.

Wendy is the director of yoga at Mystic Life and has a yoga business, Wendy Bird Yoga, that works not only with the ladies at Mystic Life, but is collaborating with other local healing centers, such as Emerge in Xenia. Relying purely on her mission to help heal others as well as herself, Wendy has found her place in this world doing exactly what she loves.
