Ken Hammontree as Simon Kenton is GCHS Featured Banquet Speaker

This year we have turned our annual banquet into a mini Chautauqua. On Monday, September 16, 2019, Ken Hammontree, a well known actor on the Ohio Humanities Council Chautauqua circuit, will portray Simon Kenton, and we hope to have a record crowd at the dinner. Please invite friends and family to accompany you to the program. We are also inviting children from the elementary and middle schools to watch this live history event. People are welcome to come to dinner and the show, or attend the program only.

The meeting/dinner will be held at the new Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center at 338 South Progress Drive, on the corner of West Second Street. The Center shares a building with the new YMCA, so come have a look at Xenia's two newest sites which serve the senior population.

Dinner will begin at 6:00 PM on Monday, September 16. Simon Kenton will begin his performance at 7:00 PM. Please note that this date is a week later than our regular monthly meetings, and is being held at a larger facility to accommodate a larger crowd. Cost of the complete program (dinner and entertainment) is $25.00. The cost for entertainment only is $10.00 per adult and $5.00 per student in elementary or middle school. Tickets are available at the Historical Society office, 74 West Church St., Xenia.
