Xenia Police Division Promotes Two at Swearing-In Ceremony

The City of Xenia Police Division (XPD) recently announced the promotion of two of its staff to Captain and Sergeant.

Gary Johnson was promoted from the rank of Sergeant to the rank of Captain and will oversee patrol services. Captain Johnson has thirty-one years of service with the division. Throughout his career, he has served as Field Training Officer, Evidence Tech, Detective, Hostage Negotiator Team Commander, Special Technology Unit Commander and most recently, Patrol Sergeant.

Matthew Foubert was promoted from the rank of Officer to the rank of Patrol Sergeant. Sergeant Foubert has twenty-three years of service with the division. Throughout his career, he has served as Field Training Officer, Evidence Tech, BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) Operator, bike patrol and most recently Officer.

A swearing-in ceremony was held on March 22, 2019 in the Xenia Municipal Court. Judge Michael Murry administered a sworn oath to each individual.
