Going Collateral: Broadening Your Genealogy Research for ages 18+

Going Collateral: Broadening Your Genealogy Research for ages 18+ will be held in the Greene County Room at Xenia Community Library on Sat., Oct. 5, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Does your family tree contain only your direct ancestors? Extending your family tree to include collateral linesbrothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousinsmight provide some breakthroughs in your research. Cathy Leininger will present the benefits of going collateral, and provide examples of this method of research. Cathy has been doing genealogy for over 20 years and is currently serving a term as President of the Greene County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. She has given presentations for local libraries and genealogy chapters, and has taught beginning genealogy classes. Her specialty is Midwestern research and migration patterns. This program is co-sponsored by the Greene County Room—Local History & Genealogy and the Greene County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
