The Senior Services Levy renewal is on the November 6th ballot. The political action committee - Friends of the Greene County Council on Aging, is holding an Issue 7 Rally and we hope that many of the GCCOA partners will be able to participate.
See below the flyer for the Issue 7 Rally set for next Monday (Oct 1st) at 3pm. It is in the gym of the Xenia Community Center next to our office.
The purpose of the Rally is to provide an opportunity for supporters of the Senior Services Levy to come together, pick up levy materials and yard signs, and to take a group photo to use on the Friends of GCCOA website and the Friends of GCCOA Facebook page. It also gives all of us a chance to feel a part of the larger levy effort and generate some excitement.
Please wear blue, which will make for an impressive photo no matter how many turn out.
The hope is to take the photo around 3:30pm when it is assumed the most people will be in attendance. It will be quick and we will sit on the bleachers with a few in the front row holding yard signs.
For the yard signs, the objective is to ‘sign them out’ – to individuals and to organizations. Ideally someone from individual organizations will be present to pick up signs to take back to their respective organizations. Signs will also be available at the Council’s Xenia and Beavercreek offices and all of the senior centers. As always, the signs are to be placed on private property only – as approved by the individual and business owners. If you would see a sign posted in a place it shouldn’t, please remove it as appropriate.
Activities related to the levy are ramping up and we are hopeful that the community will continue their support of senior and caregiver services.
