CASH MOB 101
Cash Mob - an organized "mob" that meets and spends money at a local, independent business at a specified time. Cash Mobs are the perfect way to shop local, have fun, and meet new people in our community.
THE RULES
Commit to spending at least $10 at the chosen mob business.
When you are done shopping, come to the after mob meet-up location.
Have a ridiculous amount of fun knowing you are single handedly supporting your local business community (Did you know that for every $100 spent at a local small business, $68 returns to the community?).

Each Cash Mob event focuses on supporting a local business in downtown Xenia. Please join us at Gypsy Alley Boutique from 5-6 pm on Wednesday, October 3rd. Gypsy Alley will offer a 10% discount on clothing to mob participants.
All Cash Mob participants are asked to spend a minimum of $10.

Gypsy Alley Boutique just celebrated their one year anniversary in downtown Xenia. Owned and operated solely by Melanie Thomas, a veteran, wife, and mom to three kiddos. Her love for Xenia began in 1999 when the Air Force planted her in Dayton. Ironically, she joined the military to get out of Ohio, and her first and only station was an hour and a half from her hometown of Heath, Ohio. While bartending in Xenia, she met the love of her life. He was fresh out of the Army, and had just finished his time overseas, serving. He was born and raised in Xenia, and they are raising their children here, too. The small town feel, and the amazingly friendly and helpful people in Xenia are a huge part of why she decided to open up shop. There was a need for boutique women’s clothing... something unique and fun. Add in lots of locally handmade jewelry, repurposed furniture and home decor, and you have a boutique! Not only does the boutique offer these treasures, but the larger new location gives more room for growth and opportunities to give back to the community. Partnering with local groups, the boutique has become a donation collection spot. With a passion for people, the clothing and everything for sale in the shop is only the beginning of adventures taking place there. Melanie is planning to create a makers’s space, where people can come in and create, meet to talk, serve, and find new ways to give back as a community. Honoring the business owners of the past,and breathing new life into the downtown atmosphere is very important. Being a small part of the Downtown Xenia Now movement is a way to do just that. The shop motto is “the people first, and the rest will fall into place”.
