Winter fun for everyone!
Even as the temperature and snow falls, your librarians are continuing to work with tireless enthusiasm and creativity on new programs, services, and exciting highlights taken from your catalog of books, movies, music, digital resources, and more! To start off, there's still one month left in our Winter Reading Challenge. So grab your age-appropriate bingo activity and reading sheet and get to it! Then February and March provide us with two great opportunities to celebrate through programs and our catalog the contributions of Black and Women figures from Greene County and beyond. We're excited to bring back our Food for Friends program, giving you a chance to help us stock our local food pantries while making a dent in your's or a neighbor's fines. Which is a great way to bring some more attention to our continuing After School Snacks program - with free distribution days at all seven of our libraries. It's worth noting that kids can still take advantage of our Level Up free tutoring program and also engage with their creative side through an art contest we are co-presenting with the Juvenile Court. It's also the return of another tax season - but don't worry! Your librarians have assistance available with forms and our volunteers at Xenia. Finally, the Ohio Department of Health continues to offer us COVID-19 At Home Self-Tests for distribution. As these are available we will continue to update our site and phone lines. There's so much to do - so be safe and have fun - and I can't wait to see you back at your library! Karl Colón, Executive Director of Greene County Public Library |
