WILBERFORCE ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD APPOINTMENTS Five New Members Join the Wilberforce University Board of Trustees

Mr. Mark Wilson, Chairman of the Wilberforce University Board of Trustees, is excited to announce the appointment of five new board members. “These appointments support a continued renewal of the Wilberforce commitment of excellence to its constituency that has been dubbed ‘The Wilberforce Renaissance’,” stated Wilson. “I am proud to be a part of this exciting new era.” The new board members were elected during a December 2016 convening of the Trusteeship and Governance Subcommittee of the Board, and will begin their duties effective January 2017.

Joining the current nineteen board members are: Mr. Reginald Bean, Vice President for Culture and Stewardship for Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated; Ms. Mary H. Boosalis, President of Premier Health Partners, Inc.; complex commercial litigation expert, Attorney Frank E. Emory, Jr., who is Partner at Hunton and Williams, LLC; Colson Task Force Member on Federal Corrections, Attorney Cynthia W. Roseberry, who is Manager of Clemency Project 2014; and Attorney Angela Rye, CNN Political Commentator, CEO and Principal of IMPACT Strategies. Each of the five appointments will serve a four-year term.

Wilberforce will benefit from these appointments, whose experiences range from communications and the medical field, to the corporate board room. “This outstanding cadre of professionals demonstrates that indeed the renaissance at Wilberforce is underway,” stated Dr. Herman J. Felton, Jr., President of Wilberforce University. “We are pleased and excited to have each of these extraordinary individuals, the multitude of experience they bring in the private and public sector, as well as their involvement in board governance at some of the nation’s premiere universities.”
