Central State University Offers New Four-Year Cost Guarantee

Central State University (CSU) announced today an exciting new tuition program that will help families plan for the cost of a four-year education. Under the new, Marauder Tuition Guarantee program, 2019 freshmen and transfer students (fulltime) will pay the same tuition price from their first year through their four consecutive years of matriculation. The tuition guarantee program institutes a four-year agreement for each entering for each enter cohort.

“Paying for college is a significant investment for students and their families, and CSU will always explore every opportunity to keep a college education affordable and sustainable,” said Dr. Cynthia Jackson-Hammond, Central State University president.

The Marauder Tuition Guarantee will launch for the 2019 fall semester. University officials are expecting the guarantee will become institutionalized after a board of trustees vote in April. Incoming undergraduate freshmen and new transfers will pay the same initial tuition rate throughout their four-year college experience.

The tuition guarantee enhances the value of a Central State educational experience that is already recognized as Ohio’s most affordable four-year institution. At Central State, every student benefits from personal mentorship, an educational environment enhanced by community service, the flexibility to explore their personal and professional interests, and the opportunity to build a strong resume through internships and undergraduate research.

The Marauder Tuition Guarantee is just one of several initiatives that Central State has implemented to make a college education more affordable. Other initiatives that addressed
affordability include the reduction of out-of-state surcharge by 70%; and offering College Credit Plus courses, which allows area middle and high school students the opportunity to jumpstart their college education. In 2018 e-books were made available to entering freshmen which reduced the cost of textbooks by 60%.
Central State University is committed to high-quality academic collegiate experiences at a cost that addresses the needs of Ohio families and families throughout the region.
