Healthy Halloween Hustle 5k Fun Run/Walk Set for October 21st
The Xenia Community Schools Foundation is hosting the “3rd Annual Healthy Halloween Hustle” in conjunction with Xenia Community Schools. This 5k run/walk is scheduled for October 21st at 9:00 am. The health–focused fun event will begin and end at Shawnee Park. All participants pre-registered by October 11th will receive a long sleeve t-shirt with the event logo. Registration fees are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students K-12. Children under 5 are welcome to participate in a short “Fun Run” and will receive a participation ribbon and a pumpkin. Online registration is available at xcsfoundation.com and at Xenia Community Schools’ buildings.
This fundraiser for the Xenia Community Schools Grant Program is a joint effort between the Xenia Community Schools and the Xenia Community Schools Foundation. Proceeds from the event will help fund classroom grants. The Foundation awards $20,000.00 in grants annually. Funds are used to support projects such as: the Muse Machine at WMS and XHS, library book purchases, the WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) at WMS, the Elementary S.T.E.A.M. Day/Science Olympiad at all five elementary schools and many other projects throughout the school district.
The Xenia Community Schools Foundation is an Ohio non-profit 501(C) (3) corporation. Gifts made to the XCSF qualify as tax deductible charitable contributions. The Board of Directors includes both local residents and staff of the Xenia Community Schools District. The XCSF's purpose, among others, is to seek funding to be used for the benefit of faculty and students by embracing or going beyond the usual.
