2017 Festival Features Brass Tracks, Balloon Glow & More

The Xenia Community Festival returns to Shawnee Park in 2017 with new features and old favorites. 

The festival will open at 4pm with the opening ceremonies at 6pm with the national anthem.  The local dance clubs and entertainment will all be held at the pavilion.  Tons of craft and food vendors for all.  Rides for the kids and paddle boats in the pond.  Something new this year is the Beer Te2017 Spunge at Greene 2nt hosted by Nick's Restaurant.  Just before and after the Balloon Glow lights up its traditional first festival night of Friday, Sept. 15 one of Dayton's Favorite bands will be at the pavillion - Spungewurthy!  Great old time southern rock & roll!

Things just get better on Saturday, Sept. 16.  Starting off with the Parade at 9am and our own Gabrielle Enright from Channel 7 will be our honored parade marshall.  Parade starts at 9am so get there early for a good seat!  Parade will start at Main & Detroit and end at Fairground Rd.  Bring your chairs!

Then it will be more entertainment at the pavilion with local entertainment, Lowe's will have Field day for kids, YMCA will have paddle boats for everyone, and everyting playing up to our Finaly when Brass Tracks is an 8-piece band featuring an amazing brass section led by internationally renowned saxophonist Hal Melia. Step back in time and hear the sounds of Chicago, Blood Sweat and TeBTB Promo Photo 1ars, Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown and many more as Brass Tracks pays tribute to the great horn bands and songs of the 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond. 

The Festival will open at 4 pm Friday, with the official opening ceremony starting at 6 pm and activities continuing until 9 pm. The hours Saturday are 9 am to 9 pm.
