Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce Endorses DORA Proposal

Dear Honorable Mayor and Council Members,

At the March 16, 2021 board meeting, the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce (XACC) Board of Directors voted to endorse the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) in Xenia’s Historic Downtown in accordance with Ohio Revised Code.

The Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to build a better Xenia, so that businesses can thrive, and the community can prosper. These Chamber leaders believe there are many factors that contribute to the economic growth and quality of life in the Xenia area, and this Board of Directors believe that a DORA in Xenia would be beneficial to the overall prosperity and future development of the downtown area.

Knowing that other communities in the area have already established this type of designated area and have found it to be creating a positive downtown experience is encouraging. We would not want Xenia to miss out on a new opportunity to hold and promote unique events that could bring more people into town.

Sincerely,

Matthew Bennett                                                      Alan Liming
Chairman of the Board                                            President / CEO
