Master of Education Gains High Marks Among Miami Valley Universities

There are 238 universities in the United States that offer online graduate degree programs in education. Three Miami Valley universities--Cedarville University, University of Dayton, and Wright State University--were ranked among the top 75 online programs in the country according to U.S. News & World Report's Best Online Graduate Education programs, which was released this week.

Basic Acrylic Art Painting Classes

Beginning January 16th, X*ACT’s resident artist Loren Lorenzo will be teaching Basic Acrylic Art Painting classes Thursday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at X*ACT Xenia Area Community Theater, 45 East Second Street, Xenia Ohio. Classes will run until February 13, 2014. Cost is $6.00 per class and open to ages twelve and older. Ohio Safety Congress & Expo Registration Now Open - Pathways to Safety

 

Registration is now open for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) 2014 Safety Congress and Expo (OSC14). Safety Congress, the longest-running occupational safety, health and workers’ compensation conference in Ohio, is free and takes place March 25 - 27 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Registration is available online at bwc.ohio.gov.

Ohio Tax Commissioner Issues Alert to All Ohio Small Businesses

 

50 percent tax cut retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013

A majority of small business owners and entrepreneurs in Ohio are eligible for a 50 percent tax deduction on their first $250,000 of business income as part of tax cuts approved last year, according to an alert issued by Ohio Tax Commissioner Joe Testa.

Xenia City Manager, Jim Percival, plans to retire at the end of January after a thirty-year career in public service of which nearly twenty-three years were served with the City of Xenia.
