Downtown business and property owners can register now to participate in the 3rd Annual Christmas Window Decorating Contest at www.xenianow.org, “Hometown Christmas.” This year’s theme is Christmas Movies. There will only be one window for each movie, so building owners are urged to register immediately to obtain their top choice of movie theme. Owners are asked to keep their movie title’s secret, and to include as in past years -- a bicycle -- any size-- in the window.

On November 19, 2013, our nation will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, perhaps the most famous speech given in our nation’s history.To commemorate President Lincoln’s delivery of this historic speech, Xenia Christian School and Athletes in Action, in conjunction with EmpowerU, will be sponsoring a free event entitled “An Evening with Lincoln.”
Hospitality Homes scored a touchdown at the October Business After Hours with great sports-related door prizes and fabulous food and drink in a beautifully decorated party room. Everyone had a wonderful time.
Board members of the Xenia Community Schools Foundation (XCSF) became school ghouls for Trunk or Treat October 24. The weather, more wintry than fall, moved the event indoors at McKinley School, but the XCSF still gave out more than 125 pounds of candy and sponsored a drawing for a "Xenia BUCket" filled with a Xenia Buccaneers sweatshirt, two Xenia t-shirts, two Xenia coffee mugs and two Xenia BUCs Christmas ornaments.
The S.L. Stephen award recipient has worked unselfishly throughout the year to promote the Chamber and the community. Members in the past who have received this award continue their efforts to work throughout the community and we are so honored to have them among our membership. The Chamber looks forward to celebrate a new recipient this year.
