Xenia Area Young Professionals News

On Saturday March 22, 2014 the Xenia Area Young Professionals (XAYP) painted the Chew Room (multi-purpose room) at the Xenia YMCA.  This room is used by a number of community organizations including Rotary and Kiwanis.  13 people assisted with the painting, which started around 1:00pm.  “It was a great opportunity for XAYP to do some work and make a difference within the community,” said Eric Holtvogt, chair of XAYP.  Next time you are in the YMCA check out the Chew Room to see what a difference the painting made.  A special thanks to Lowe’s of Xenia, who donated all of the paint and supplies needed for the project.  Below are the some pictures during the day and some pictures of the final product. Take a look at them hard at work...

XACC Supports the Senior Services Levy

The Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce (XACC) believes that the quality of life in our community is an important part of its future economic vitality.  It is also important for the employees of area businesses to know that their family members have options and support as they grow older, because caring for a senior can have a profound impact on the productivity of an employee. Therefore the Chamber's Board of Directors unanimously supports the 1.4 mil Senior Services Levy on the May 6 ballot, to be administered by the Greene County Council on Aging (GCCOA).  GCCOA is an efficient organization providing counseling and care plans as well as resources for transportation, supportive services and operations for seniors in Greene County.  As our population ages, these services will become increasingly important for all of us.
