Download Now!  POCI & GTOAA Co-Vention Program Guide
Dear Greene County Neighbor:

We're excited!! Greene County will once again be hosting one of the greatest car shows in history July 8-13th and you could benefit from this opportunity.

The Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI) and the GTO Association of America (GTOAA) are hosting their annual conventions jointly at Wright State University's Nutter Center July 8-13, 2013. Many of you might recall seeing the vintage Pontiacs in and around Greene County at the various restaurants, shops, and attractions in July 2009, they are coming back!

Registrations for this historic car show are pouring in and we?re expecting approximately 3,500 registered attendees with a draw of 10,000 local visitors. The conventions will share world renowned speakers for the seminars, a huge swap meet behind the Nutter Center and nearly 1,500 cars on display inside and outside of the arena. Friday and Saturday KilKare Raceway in Xenia Township will host the drag races.

While there will be a list of activities for attendees to sign up for many will treat their trip here as a vacation and will be looking for things that Greene County and the Dayton region has to offer.

This is your opportunity to steer some business your direction. Whether you'd like to buy ad space in their program with an offer, a welcome greeting or you would like to offer a discount or coupon to the group that we can place in their welcome bags, there is a way for you to participate. The program will be a colorful glossy magazine 8" x 11 inches. All advertising rates have been discounted for local businesses. If you don't have an advertisement or coupon created we would be happy to create it for you at no extra charge.

If you have a marquee or a sign associated with your business can you please welcome the group? We would love to see "Welcome POCI/GTOAA CoVention" in as many places as possible.

Our office can produce the ad if you'd like OR you may forward your own. The specifications are listed on the submission form attached. If you prefer to offer discount coupons there will be 1,500 (at least) welcome bags to fill but the committee is requesting that you supply at least 1,000. These can be dropped off at the Greene County CVB office OR we can pick them up.

If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Schwartzkopf or Lisa Willis at the CVB office (937) 429-9100 or e-mail.

Thank you!

Download Now!  Ohio Incumbent Workforce Training Voucher Program    Popular
We have learned that the new Ohio Incumbent Worker Training Voucher Program will be announced sometime within the next 30 days (we were told by JobsOhio West that unfortunately there are no specific release dates at this time). This program is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE; there will be $20M available throughout the state in FY 13 and $30M available in FY 14. There is a cap of $4k per employee and $500k per federal tax ID #.

Companies will use the Ohio Means Jobs website: https://ohiomeansjobs.com/omj/ to register for the program. For this particular program, a company will have to fill out an application online; there will not be an option to upload a spread sheet or other documents. As you will read in the attached document, there are certain requirements for an employer and employee to be eligible for the program.

If you choose to pursue the program, the most important thing you can do at this time is gather and prepare all the information on the second page of the attached document, which details application requirements. We will make sure that you learn when the online, web-based application is available for you to fill out.

Sincerely,
David Kell, Director

Download Now!  GCCC Staff and Stakeholder Satisfaction Results are in:
Attached are the results of the Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey. Thank you to everyone who completed these. Allow me to share some points of interest:

* 40 people responded. This is an OK response rate, but we will do better in the future.

* We also plan, in future surveys, to break up the respondents by group. For example, post-secondary, business leaders, partner schools, etc.

* You will see that most questions had very favorable results.

* Any question that had below 60 percent "very satisfied" or "satisfied" will be looked at for major improvement.

* I did not include the written comments and many were personal in nature. However, the administrators and Board of Education saw the written comments and improvements will be occurring.

If you have any questions about these surveys or how we will be improving, please let me know.
