Download Now!  We Care Arts Annual Auction "Green is Good" Donation Form
Dear Business Partner,

You know us, We Care Arts; we change disabilities into possibilities through ART. We know you, too, because you are one of the leading businesses in our community!

It is almost time for our Annual Auction, scheduled for Friday March 16, 2012 at the Hope Hotel. This year our theme is "Green is Good" and we're so excited that local celebrity Jim Boucher from Channel 2 has agreed to emcee the event for us. Our auction has an attendance of 250 to 300 persons.

The money we raise at this important fundraiser goes right back to the people with whom we work; adults and children living with physical and developmental disabilities, managing mental illnesses, or recovering from an acquired brain injury. More often than not, they come to us feeling lost and without purpose.

When our clients arrive at We Care Arts, they are treated with dignity and love, and begin to feel better about themselves. They find an accepting and safe community here where they can tune in to their creativity and learn to create beautiful and useful pieces of art with staff, volunteers and peers. They begin to feel independent and successful when they earn money as their work is purchased in our gift shop.

We need your help to continue to support their recovery and growth at We Care Arts. The benefits of our programming ripple through the community, as clients grow stronger and become productive, participating members of society.

Here?s how you can be part of the 2012 Auction and make a real difference for hundreds of people with disabilities:

* Sponsor our activities at various levels.
* Donate merchandise or a service we can offer as an auction item. When you donate any item for the auction, your business will be listed in the program as a supporter of We Care Arts and the people we serve.
* Or, you can place an advertisement in the program; Business card - $50, 1/2 page - $100, Full page - $200

You can make a significant difference to the clients, their families and our community with your contribution. I look forward to knowing that you will be a part of We Care Arts. I'd love to see you at the Auction on March 16! Come and enjoy the evening!

Please call me at 937.252.3937 if you have any questions. Again, thank you for your on-going support of We Care Arts and for considering a generous donation.

Download Now!  GCCOA Medicare Check-Up & Wellness Event
This is the flyer for the Greene County Council On Aging's October 23rd Medicare Check-Up and Wellness Event.

The Check-Up portion is set for 11am to 6pm at the Xenia Community Center and is for all Medicare beneficiaries. It is important to have an objective review of your options before signing up for a Medicare D prescription or Medicare Advantage plan. Open Enrollment for 2014 began this week and runs through December 7th. Please note that the plans have once again changed for the coming year ? anything from premiums, co-pays, deductibles, list of drugs covered and so on. We have a tremendous group of Council and senior center staff and community volunteers who are trained through the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program out of the Ohio Department of Insurance.

The Wellness portion of the event goes from 11am to 4pm and will be in the gymnasium. Pharmacists from Walgreens will be on hand for flu shots but also to review your medications or those of your loved one. Bring in your medication list or your medication bottles and they will be happy to talk with you about any potential challenges related to interactions and such. Please remember that sharing information about vitamins, herbals and over-the-counter medications is important as well.

There will also be information on finding trusted Internet sites regarding the Affordable Care Act and health-related information, several other wellness-related displays, and a wonderful sampling of healthy snacks and light meal choices for you to taste. A nice selection of door prizes has been donated, including two blood pressure monitors.

And for those of us with personal papers, cancelled checks, and records that we no longer need but are not quite sure what to do with, we encourage you to bring your bag or box-full to place in the secure shredding bins from Greene Inc to destroy. This is a great opportunity to take care of something you have been meaning to get to and at the same time clear a space on your desk or kitchen table!

Again, we ask that you share this flyer and information with others and of course we would be delighted to have you come out for the event ? even just to say hello!

Thank you,

Your Council
