Download Now!  United Way's 2010 Christmas Program
United Way's Christmas Program is looking for sponsors for needy children this Christmas.

If you would be interested in helping out some needy children please fill out the attached form and return it to the address listed below, or you can fax it to 372-0560. This year's program proves to be very challenging and we hope to help as many children as we can. We ask that you buy no more than 5 presents per child so that we can make sure as many children are helped as possible.

Once we receive your form we will send you the family name, address and phone number as well as the children's names, ages, gender, sizes and wants for the children you've adopted. Then we ask that you purchase presents for them, wrap and label them with the child's first and last name. You may wish to deliver the presents yourself and can make arrangements directly with the family or you can bring them to us to deliver. If bringing to us, please have the presents to our office on or before December 17th. THANK YOU for helping to make a child's Christmas happy and fun!

Download Now!  4-H Quilt Square Trail Sponsorship request Letter
The Greene County CVB Is Partnering With the Greene County 4-H Clubs Thru the OSU Extension Office to Embark On a Quilt Square Trail.

In 2010, the 4-H clubs of Greene County will be painting eight-foot by eight-foot quilt squares on plywood and mounting them on barns and buildings all over the county. Then, folks from all over will be invited to come to Greene County to see them.

Our goal is to feature the entire county. The 4-H Clubs are eager to get started but need supplies. Their budget took some severe cuts this year. I've attached a letter that explains the project in more detail and suggestions on how a business or interested individual might help either thru offering money as a sponsor or by offering a barn or business that may be featured on the map.

If anyone has any questions they are welcome to contact me personally (937) 429-9100 or lwillis@greenecountyohio.org or Beth Bridgeman from the OSU Extension office who is responsible for the 4-H Clubs (937) 372-9971

Thank you for your support!

Download Now!  Sponsors Needed for United Way Holiday Program
United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, Greene County Branch has started signing up applicants for their annual Holiday Program. They are in need of sponsors for children 14 and under. All families are screened for need and residency. United Way will provide sponsors with the family's name, address and phone number, child's full name, gender and size as well as suggestions for appropriate toys and gifts. Most sponsors purchase an average of 5 gifts per child.

Sponsors are asked to purchase the gifts, wrap them, and label them with the child's first and last name. Sponsors are able to deliver the presents themselves (when appropriate) or take them to the United Way office located at 1855 Bellbrook Ave. in Xenia for United Way to distribute. The last date to deliver the gifts to United Way is December 21st.

Last year United Way was able to help almost 500 children. Unfortunately they were not able to help all the children that were signed up. Help make a child's holiday a happy one. For more information, call Meg Gillis at 910-6003 or email her at maryg@dayton-unitedway.org.
