Sleep, Diet and Exercise - Factors Impacting Work Productivity

Featured speakers will be Dr. Michelle Noel and Richard Cohen

Dr. Michelle Noel practices general neurology at her office at the GMH Beavercreek HealthPark at 3359 Kemp Road, Suite 230. In addition, as the new medical director of the GMH Sleep Center, she also treats patients and conducts sleep studies at the Beaver View Health Care Center at 3095 Dayton-Xenia Road.

"As a neurologist who fellowship-trained in sleep medicine and has experience in pulmonary critical care, Dr. Noel's multidisciplinary background will be a great asset to us," said Richard Cohen, GMH Sleep Center director.

Dr. Noel is not new to the Dayton area. Prior to completing her fellowship at Wayne State University, she was chief resident at Grandview Medical Center, where she also interned.

As an avid runner and a proponent of eating right, Dr. Noel lives a healthy lifestyle that she hopes serves as a model for her patients. "I try to live the life that I ask my patients to live," said Dr. Noel of her commitment to healthy living.

Richard Cohen is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian with a master's degree in nutritional biochemistry. He received his BS from Cornell University and his MS from Penn State University. He interned at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania (where the street lights are shaped like chocolate kisses). He worked several years in public health for Montgomery County before coming to Greene Memorial Hospital in 1989. At that time, he set up the current GMH weight management program which has turned out to be the area's largest and longest running hospital based medical-supervised educational program. He took on the GMH Sleep Center about 5 years ago and helped turn that program to become fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine in 2009.
