|Description:||Greene County Parks & Trails Hosts Breakfast at Indian Mound Reserve
Local residents are invited to join Greene County Parks & Trails for a complimentary continental breakfast at Indian Mound Reserve, 2750 US 42 N., Cedarville, at the Williamson Mound entrance, from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 25.
Guests will enjoy beverages and pastries at the site of the 1800s log cabin that is currently being reconstructed to meet the needs of the community. Once rebuilt, the cabin will be used for educational programming for local schools as well as hosting special events that celebrate the area's unique historical and cultural past.
Door prizes from local Cedarville businesses will be awarded throughout the morning.
"Indian Mound Reserve is a jewel in eastern Greene County," says Greene County Parks & Trails Director Chrisbell Bednar, "We want introduce our neighbors to its unique history and topography, as well as share what is currently happening in the reserve."
Local Cedarville 'celebrities' will be assisting with serving breakfast and family members who used to live on the grounds will sharing what life was like in the past on the property, Bednar adds.
Participants may also enjoy a hike through the park, which features an Indian mound, enclosure and waterfalls, following breakfast.
