| Description: | Greene County Parks & Trails hosts two sessions focusing on learning to canoe Join Greene County Parks & Trails and the Dayton Power Squadron for a hands-on class to learn the basics of canoeing, boating regulations, paddling, proper personal floatation devices and more. Participants may choose either the class held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 7, or from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Thursday, July 26, depending on their schedule. Both classes will be held at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Rd., Beavercreek. "We're excited to be partnering with the Dayton Power Squadron for this vital training," says Greene County Parks & Trails Chief Naturalist Cris Barnett. ?Our own Greene County Parks "Trails staff naturalist Ashlee Schmitt is a certified watercraft instructor and will also be assisting with the training." As part of the training, individuals will be in canoes practicing newly learned skills on the Little Miami River. Cost for the class is $40 for Greene County residents; $45 for non-residents.
