| Description: | Clark State Corporate Solutions' FAST BREAK / LUNCHEON Series Disciplined Decision Making: Using Your Whole Brain in the Decision Making Process We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with information. People tend to follow one of two approaches in dealing with this information overload in making critical decisions: either they follow a very structured analytical method or they depend upon intuition alone. Research has shown that the most effective decision makers blend the two approaches, using ideas from each to improve the quality of their decisions. "Truly successful decision making relies on a balance between deliberate and instinctive thinking." - Malcolm Gladwell in Blink In this course, participants will review, learn, and practice techniques to help make sound decisions. These techniques include how to: * Identify, clarify, and prioritize decision opportunities * Plan involvement of key stakeholders * Clarify the decision purpose * Set clear criteria and measures * Use creativity and innovation techniques to identify and expand available choices * Use data to assess performance of the options * Manage risks to ensure successful implementation * Minimize waste of time by using the right amount of analysis for a given decision situation Meet the Presenter - Jennifer Lucas Jennifer Lucas is a results-oriented facilitator who believes learning should be fun.
