Learn Self-Defense Tips at November Women in Business Luncheon
Learn the latest tips on women's self defense from an expert at the next Women in Business Luncheon at 11:30 Thursday, November 1 at the Xenia YMCA. Mike Hild, Commander of the Greene County Criminal Justice Academy, will share his knowledge of this crucial safety issue. Marilyn's Country Meals also will serve a Thanksgiving Feast at this Luncheon.
Commander Hild is the perfect man for the job. Hild is in his sixth year as Academy Commander for the Greene County Criminal Justice Academy (part of the Greene County Career Center), and is responsible for the GCCC adult education criminal justice training programs. Mike previously was academy commander for all basic training programs at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy.
Mike also is past president of the Ohio Crime Prevention Association, past chairman of the Safety Association for Education, trustee of the Ohio Police Juvenile Officers Association, and chaplain for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and numerous other organizations. In the past he has served with the Dayton Police Department, Oakwood Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The Women in Business Luncheon will continue to offer an extra door prize ticket for each 3 donations of nonperishable foods in November. Please remember to bring your donation to the YMCA.
Women in Business meets the first Thursday of every month at 11:30 for lunch at the YMCA, 135 E. Church St. in Xenia. The luncheon will be buffet style and is $12. You must register by the Tuesday before each meeting by calling or emailing Carole at the Chamber: 372-3591 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Typically members arrive for networking between 11:30 and noon. Lunch and Introductions follow. (Everyone in attendance will introduce themselves and can make a quick announcement about what is going on in their business or organization). A featured speaker and door prizes follow with the program ending at 1:15. Guests are welcome to attend two meetings before committing to Chamber membership.
