October 2012

Issue: # 3

Greetings!

Our fall fund drive begins October 10. As you listen over the coming week, please ask yourself: Where else but WYSO do you hear thoughtful, in-depth analysis of the upcoming elections? Analysis that goes beyond the soundbite?

Our listeners know that public radio isn't a Democrat or Republican thing; it's not a conservative or a liberal thing; it's about having access to credible, fact-based journalism so you can make an informed decision.

As Roger Ebert eloquently wrote in The Chicago Sun Times: "NPR surely is the voice of America...It is the voice of our better nature. We are not all snarling dogs of Left and Right, feasting on shreds torn from the Body Politic. Some of us (maybe most of us, when the mood is right) are kind, curious, sane. We are interested in other peoples, other lifestyles, other choices. We do not demand that the media tell us over and over again the things we already believe."

So please - if you value WYSO, particularly during election season - be more than a listener, be a contributing listener during our Fall Fund Drive October 10-14. Only 6% of our listeners provide financial support. We need more of you to make an investment because it will keep WYSO strong.
