Helen Wickline to speak at July Women in Business Luncheon

Renowned Florist Helen Wickline will speak at the July XACC Women in Business Luncheon at the Xenia YMCA. The group will meet at 11:30 AM July 5. Ms. Wickline is one of the owner/operators of Wicklines Florist, Garden Center & Landscaping. She grew up in the Xenia area and her family has a background in agriculture. Ms Wickline received her B.S. in Home Economics from the Ohio State University.
She has been involved in the business since her husband Jim and his brother started Wicklines in 1967, growing plants behind the current Groceryland on North Detroit St. Wicklines then moved to its current location in 1970, where she has worked in sales, bookkeeping and floral design, full time or part time, ever since. A fourth generation of the family is now working at Wicklines.
Ms Wickline has taught home economics in Illinois and Ohio, is former president of the American Association of University Women, recipient of many FTD and Teleflora flower shop awards, and an Ohio Certified Nurseryman.
Women in Business meets the first Thursday of every month at 11:30 for lunch at the YMCA, 135 E. Church St. in Xenia. The luncheon will be buffet style and is $12. You must register by the Tuesday before each meeting by calling or emailing Carole at the Chamber: 372-3591 or carole@xacc.com. Typically members arrive for networking between 11:30 and noon. Lunch and Introductions follow. (Everyone in attendance will introduce themselves and can make a quick announcement about what is going on in their business or organization). A featured speaker and door prizes follow with the program ending at 1:30. Guests are welcome to attend two meetings before committing to Chamber membership.
