Greene County Parks & Trails' 2012 Greene Trails Cycling Classic
Greene Trails Cycling Classic is adding two new events to its 2012 schedule in an effort to encourage local riders to participate.
***A history ride will held on Sunday, July 22, and will feature the history and historical sites on the Little Miami Scenic Trail between Xenia and Yellow Springs. Learn about the ammunition factory and other fascinating sites along and on the trail. A naturalist can share the historical and cultural background of the trail.
***A Goecache Ride---similar to a modern-day scavenger hunt---will be held Thursday, July 19, along the Ohio To Erie Trail between Xenia and London. Caches will be found throughout the trail and located using GPS units. Staff can share the growing interest in geocaching and how the sport will be incorporated into the ride.
As always, the popular 100-mile Century Ride will be held Friday, July 20, from to Miamiville below Loveland and back to Xenia.
