Preventing Heat Related Illnesses

By: Gary Hanson, President of American Safety & Health Management Consultants, Inc

Summertime is a good time of year; time for outside activities, sports, home projects and general family fun.  However, for those who are required to work outside, especially strenuous work, the summertime can create serious safety and health risks.  Each year thousands of workers suffer heat related illnesses, up to and including death.

In order to maintain proper body temperature, the body must dissipate excess heat.  A rise in temperature of 2 to 3 degrees can start to make an individual feel sick.  If the body temperature rises higher, more serious repercussions may occur.  The body continuously tries to release heat by increasing the flow of blood to the skin.  This allows heat to be released into the air, and the body starts to perspire.  As perspiration evaporates, the body is cooled.

***NEW EMPLOYER HEALTH  FROM HUNTER CONSULTING***

Hunter Consulting is pleased to announce a new product to help alleviate the continual group health insurance burden placed on most employers today.

Introducing "My Community Care".

My Community Care is a service where employees can utilize Urgent Care facilities and ALL their services  throughout the United States WITHOUT having to pay a deductible or co-pay.

For as little as $89 Single or $99 Family a month, you can receive treatment at direct health care centers throughout the United States.

These locations offer medical care for injuries and illness, as well as preventive health  & wellness.

Employers can offer this service as a stop gap for higher group health deductibles or a great savings for self funded or partially self funded plans.

My Community Care also serves a great purpose for employers who cannot afford to offer a fully funded plan for their employees.

Employers can choose to offer this product to their workforce on strictly a voluntary basis or an employer based benefit if partially or fully paid by you.

Please keep in mind that MY Community Care is NOT a discount program as ALL services are paid at 100% !

In addition, as a member you will also receive  several membership discounts for other services including Bioscript discount RX card, discounted vision and dental plan and diagnostic imaging and lab to name a few.
