Food For Fines at All Greene County Public Library Locations
It's time to clean out closets and bookcases and look under beds to find overdue library books! The Greene County Public Library is offering patrons the opportunity to have their fines forgiven when they bring materials back to the library with a non-expired, non-perishable food item from February 19-25.
The library will accept one food item per overdue book, CD, video or other library material as payment of the fines on that item when that item is returned. In addition, patrons with existing fines will receive $1 credit toward their fines for each food item donated, as long as the materials have been returned to the library. Credit will not be applied toward fees for lost or damaged items. The food collected will be donated to the local food banks.
The Greene County Public Library system is available on the Internet at www.greenelibrary.info.
The library system consists of seven locations: Beavercreek, Jamestown, Cedarville, Fairborn, Yellow Springs, Xenia and Bellbrook.
