Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce Holds Monthly Business After Hours at the Greene County Career Center
Building business relationships while enjoying each other’s company, the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce (XACC) recently held its monthly Business After Hours at the Greene County Career Center located at 2960 West Enon Road in Xenia.
The Greene County Career Center (GCCC) has a longstanding tradition of excellence in education. From high school career and technical programs to adult education, the GCCC is an invaluable community partner, educating thousands of area students and empowering them to be successful in their chosen profession. For more information, visit the Greene County Career Center’s web-site at www.greeneccc.com for a complete list of programs and educational opportunities.
During the afternoon event, guests enjoyed food prepared by the Greene County Career Center’s Culinary Arts Program. Students prepared delicious food including grilled bacon wrapped shrimp, a decadent creamy chocolate cake, and a scrumptious apple turnover with butter cream icing. Superintendent Dan Schroer welcomed guests and gave an enthusiastic speech thanking the community for their support of the GCCC.
The Partners in Education Split the Pot raffle raised $122 with half of the proceeds benefitting a scholarship fund for a Xenia High School graduate. Jeff Lewis won the March drawing and donated his half of the proceeds to the Xenia Area Young Professionals community outreach efforts. Door prizes were donated by chamber members and won by those in attendance.
XACC Business After Hours events are THE premiere networking opportunity for the Xenia Community. Business After Hours events are held the second Thursday of the month at various chamber member businesses or organizations. Attendance is free and open to all chamber members and their guests.
