Cedarville University to Welcome Largest Freshman Class Since 1887
Cedarville University has received a record number of reservation deposits for fall 2010 and anticipates welcoming its largest freshman class, nearly 900, since its founding in 1887.
Over 2,900 freshman applications have been received by Cedarville for fall 2010. Increased interest along with robust retention has prompted University officials to implement a waiting list for students seeking on-campus accommodations.
Students are drawn to Cedarville because they believe high academic standards and transforming Christian faith are equally worthy and
important pursuits, shares President William Brown, Ph.D. We are thankful to God for the strong recruitment and retention results we are
experiencing. I personally appreciate the intentional efforts of our entire campus family to make Cedarville the university of choice for
students and families seeking a high-quality, Christ-centered academic experience.
It has been a decade since Cedarville last utilized a waiting list in 2000 when 1,952 applications were received.
Students choosing to live off-campus are not affected by the waiting list. Students who find themselves on the waiting list, will be notified
as space becomes available and given the opportunity to move into residence halls.
We have a strong desire to keep the Cedarville experience positive from day one for every new student, describes Mark D. Weinstein,
director of admissions.
The University credits the implementation of a new financial aid and pricing program as a key element in opening the door to more students.
