Xenia Area Community Theater, Inc. is also proud to announce the 2010 Children’s Summer Workshop. This Program for kids ages 9 to 15 begins August 9th and runs daily from 9:30 to 3:30 PM at the theater at
45 East Second St. in Xenia. Children must register at the theater before August 1st. The enrollment is limited to 32 students.
Kids will work on stagecraft, interpretational reading and characterization, costuming, lighting and sound for their production of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. The final production will be performed at Faith Community Methodist Church, our partner in this summer’s opportunity for children. Under the direction of Cathy Bengson, the program enters its fourth summer. Last year's production of “Without Strings” was attended by over 225 friends and family. One favorite activity was painting sets; other kids liked the afternoon dance breaks.
Registration is $10 and applications must be submitted by July 28th. The
program is offered as a service to the community and is a wonderful opportunity for young people to build confidence and self esteem.
