May Business After Hours Event Hosted by Family Violence Prevention Center

Spring has sprung in Xenia!  The warm weather finally hit us last night as Chamber members arrived at May Business After Hours, hosted by the Family Violence Prevention Center. The Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce's BAH continues to maintain a welcoming and fun atmosphere for local businessmen and women who look to network and get to know other businessmen and women in their local community! Thank you to the Family Violence Prevention Center for delivering another successful BAH!

The Family Violence Prevention Center is located in Xenia off of Bellbrook Avenue and their mission is to "reduce family violence and its impact in Greene County."  They host numerous events throughout the year to raise money and awareness of family violence, such as their recent Zumba-thon, 5K walk/run, and Dining out to STOP Domestic Violence.  Thank you, Family Violence Prevention Center for all you do in our community!! After guests registered with Chrissy, guests enjoyed a variety of hors d'oeuvres and beverages provided by our hosts, and exchanged business cards and contact information.  These events are held on the second Thursday of the month to help solidify the unity of businesses in the Xenia area and for the people you meet there to walk away remembering your name and company profile. 

As always at a Business After Hours, numerous door prizes consisting of a floral arrangement from The Flower Stop, YMCA Gift Certificate, and more were given away.  Greta Mayer of Mental Health Recovery Board won the "Split the Pot" and promptly gave it back in support of the Chamber's Scholarship fund!  Door prizes and a "Split the Pot" raffle are always offered and given away at each Business After Hours!  See Chrissy at the registration table as you enter the next BAH and receive one ticket for $1 or six tickets for $5 for the Split the Pot.  Split the Pot proceeds (those you do not take home!) go towards the Xenia Area Chamber's Scholarship Fund.  You do not have to be present to win, which increases your chance of taking home a cash prize!  However, it’s always a great cause – so why not donate and take your chances to win?!

Don't forget about the "Bucket to Basket"! Every attendee of the BAH is requested to submit one business card per event into a large silver bucket, which registers them to win the prize basket at the December 2010 BAH.  Currently, the basket consists of gift cards to local businesses and restaurants, cash prizes, and much, MUCH more.  The value of the basket is already up to $2,000!  To guarantee your best chance to win, you must attend each BAH in order to enter your card.  Sorry - only one card per BAH is allowed to be entered, and you must be present at the December event to win!  Only six BAH's left until December’s big event!  (Can you believe this year is already almost half over?!)

Business After Hours are always held on the second Thursday of the month!  The next BAH will be held on Thursday, June 11, at Nick's Restaurant and Bar off Detroit Street in Xenia.  If you have spent only five minutes in Nick's at one point in your life, you will know that this event will be fun and consist of some great food!  If you have questions before the event, please feel free to contact Chrissy or Alan at the Chamber!  (937) 372-3591.
