NEW Health Care Educational Institute Opens in Xenia
Located at 2380 Bellbrook Ave. Xenia, Ohio (building previously occupied Ohio Academy of Holistic Health) is now The Ohio Institute of Allied Health.
The Ohio Institute of Allied Health, a Division of Dayton Outpatient Center, was approved by The Ohio Board of Career Colleges for the following programs & curriculums: Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, Nurse Aide Training, Massage Therapy, Holistic Health Practitioner, and Holistic Life Coach. OIAH is one of the only schools in the State and/or Country with an emphasis and concentration on holistic approaches.
Students from the school already serve in Hospitals, Long Term Care Facilities, Doctors’ and other Health Care Practitioners’ offices throughout the area. A number of Licensed Massage Therapists and Holistic Practitioners of various types have also set up their own businesses that integrate with other health care facilities. Due to the Ohio Institute of Allied Health and it being a division of Dayton Outpatient Center it has a tremendous network of health care facilities to help increase job placement opportunities.
There is an increased emphasis on “Wellness” in healthcare today. Even today’s health insurance programs are going beyond emergencies and chronic care that uses pharmaceuticals, surgery and other procedures, and are including support of health and exercise clubs and other options that reduce stress and maintain and promote wellness. Chiropractors and other doctors’ offices now employ Licensed Massage Therapists, Reflexologists, Aromatherapists, Imagery Practitioners and other wellness services that integrate with conventional health care to improve well being more than just maintaining the absence of illness symptoms. The National Institute of Health through its National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and 40 universities throughout the country are doing integrative health care research on the effectiveness of these practices.
The Ohio Institute of Allied Health recognizes this trend and now is believed to be the only school in the country that offers full Practical Nursing training that includes all of the applicable technologies and procedures, and also as part of their training includes providing students with an understanding of holistic practices that integrate with conventional health care. The school also has the mechanisms in place to carry this forward into Registered Nursing Associate Degree training and beyond.
Carrying forward with the Ohio Institute of Allied Health follows the Dayton Outpatient Center’s history, and a trend in health care, that is moving toward offering convenient outpatient health care services to the communities it serves. The new Ohio Institute of Allied Health is located just off US 35 at 2380 Bellbrook Ave. Xenia, Ohio. For additional information please call (937) 372-3454.
