Announcing Clark State's April Fast/Break Breakfast
Quarterly, the Corporate Solutions Department of Clark State Community College hosts a breakfast meeting which affords you the opportunity to network with area business leaders.
For the April FAST BREAK / BREAKFAST, we will examine the topics of Selling Professionally.
You may think that you are not a salesperson, but to be effective, everybody must sell, whether it is a product or service, your ideas or yourself.
Selling Professionally
Learn How to Bring Science to the Art of Selling
The Reality of Selling
· Products and services are becoming more and more alike
· Buyers are confronted with a sea of information and are finding it increasingly harder to differentiate among products and services
· Customers are busier than ever
· Many customers do not have the resources or the time to thoroughly evaluate all of their options
· They may feel a loss of control and fear of making a bad decision
· As a result, they shop for the cheapest solution
The Solution: Customers Don’t Need a Salesperson, They Need a Trusted Advisor
Tricks like sliding a pen across the table to get a prospective customer to sign on the dotted line no longer work. Buyers have become too sophisticated to fall for old sales tactics.
Instead, once we understand the psychology of buying and decision-making, we can adapt our selling strategies to how customers buy. We must build a relationship of consultant or advisor, which creates value for our customers, far beyond the value of our products and services.
Your Presenter: Jim Weidaw
After earning his Masters Degree in Business at The Ohio State University and his Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development at George Washington University, Jim spent more than twenty years in senior and executive level positions with large domestic and international companies who were creating the leading edge in manufacturing technologies, telecommunications and marketing.
