Come for the Magic; Stay for the Laughs

The Cedarville Opera House announces two opportunities for you to enjoy over two hours of family friendly magic and comedy. OperaCadabra 2010, featuring the internationally known talent of local magician David Williamson, will once again entertain the Miami Valley area with two performances on Saturday, April 17, at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Williamson, an award-winning master at sleight of hand magic, will headline what is sure to be a show full of magical surprises and astonishing feats of skill. And because of Williamson’s connections within the world of magic, the event will also showcase the talents of Charlie Frye & Company, world-renowned variety artists in the tradition of old vaudeville, and John Ekin, who mixes eye-popping magical effects with sophisticated humor and audience participation.

"The Opera House is the same kind of theatre where magic thrived in the days of vaudeville, which makes it a perfect place to perform," Williamson says. "I knew instantly this would be a great venue and that my performer friends would love to come here … and I was right."

Proceeds from the performances will go to benefit the Cedarville Opera House and The Riding Centre of Yellow Springs. The latter is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe riding, care and management of horses through affordable lessons, day camps and a therapeutic riding program.
