"Twitter, Facebook and MySpace Demystified" will be the focus of a free seminar offered by the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce (XACC) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, at the Holiday Inn of Xenia.
The event is free to all individual and business chamber members and is sponsored by the chamber’s XACC Professional Outreach Committee, a group of marketing and public relations professionals.
Committee chairpersons for the educational series are Alan Liming and Chrissy Roundtree, Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce; Gretchen Rives, Xenia Community Schools; and Linda Johnson, Greene Memorial Hospital.
Non-chamber members may attend for the nominal cost of $25.
Information at the seminar will focus on leveraging tools such as Linkedln, Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and YouTube for increased business and expanded marketing efforts. Each tool will be discussed with a concentration on the business application. Participants will learn how to use social media to promote and grow their business.
Featured speaker is Ted Janusz, a professional speaker, author and marketing consultant and has been invited to appear on the Geraldo show on FOX News Network. A speaker at the 2008 International Association of Administrative Professionals conference, he has also presented at numerous creative marketing conferences for Rockhurst University. He was a keynote speaker for the 2009 Independent Computer Consultants Association conference and has been selected by eBay to conduct eBay University seminars nationwide.
Holiday Inn of Xenia is donating the use of their facility with Elmcroft of Xenia donating coffee for the seminar.
Attendees may bring their own brown bag lunch or reserve a lunch for the Holiday Inn lunch buffet that begins at 11 a.m. and features sandwich, chips, fruit, drinks and dessert. Cost is $9 and must be reserved at the time of registration.
The seminar is the third in the XACC "Jump Start Luncheon" series.
"The chamber is dedicated to offering growth opportunities and information to our members to make our community even stronger," says XACC President Alan Liming.
A flip camera donated by Greene Oaks and Docton Animal Clinic will be awarded as a door prize.
The seminar is free but reservations and pre-payment if necessary are required. No walk-in registrations will be accepted. Lunch orders must be placed at that time.
