Xenia Adult Recreation & Services Center Announces February 2010 Events

February 1st - Carry in Luncheon in Honor of Hula in the Coola Day.
February 10th - Senior Health Screenings
February 22nd - Celebrate “Black History Month”
February 28th - The Annual “Day of Caring” Pancake Brunch

Monday, February 1st - 11:30am - Carry in luncheon in honor of Hula in the Coola Day.  Who says that luaus are only for summer?  The senior center will furnish ham, drinks and some Hawaiian decor.  You dress up and plan to hula the afternoon away.  Ribbon for the best dressed and best dish.  One person will be picked as the Wackiest tourist.  At 1pm stay to play “Hand and Foot” or pokeno board game.  Wii games also available today!  Sign up for the luncheon at the Center at 130 E. Church St., Xenia, Oh or call 376-4353.  Please indicate if you will stay for games.

Wednesday, February 10th - 9am till 11:30 at the Xenia Adult Recreation & Services Center, 130 E. Church St., Xenia, Oh - Senior Health Screenings to include Cholesterol, HDL, Blood Sugars including A1C for diabetics, Blood Pressures, Height, Weight and others.  These are being offered by Premier Health.  Also - 11:30am - Monthly Luncheon - Themed “Gotta love that Cupid” - Pictures will be taken.  The entertainer is the music therapist from our local Hospice Community and Greene Oaks Nursing Center is the sponsor.  Hospitality Homes will provide delicious desserts.  Thanks to all of these groups for making the center a great place to visit, work and play.  Sign up early at the center for the luncheon or call 376-4353.  No appointment or fasting needed for the testing.  
  
Monday, February 22nd - This day has been set aside to celebrate “Black History Month” at the Xenia Adult Recreation & Services Center, 130 E. Church St., Xenia, Oh.  At 11:30am there will be a “Soul Food” carry in luncheon with games, entertainment and readings.  All are welcome.  Sign up at the center or call 376-4353. (Archie McPherson & friends will entertain with horns and piano) Ham & black eyed peas and drinks will be furnished by the center.

Sunday, February 28th - 8am till 2pm - The annual “Day of Caring” pancake brunch will take place at the Xenia Adult Recreation & Services Center.  Proceeds help support the homeless & hungry.  Call 376-4353 for more details.
