Xenia Chamber of Commerce Hosts Free "Networking" Seminar for Members
“The Art of Business Networking” with Gregg McGuire of McGuire Coaching will be the focus of a free seminar offered by the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce (XACC) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Holiday Inn of Xenia. The seminar is the second in the “Jump Start Luncheon” series. Click here for the flyer and reservation form.
The event is free to all individual and business chamber members and is sponsored by the chamber’s XACC Educational Committee, a group of marketing and public relations professionals. Information at the seminar will focus on building relationships in formal and informal settings to strengthen professional success.
The seminar will include The Power of the Ps; Unique Selling Proposition; 70/30 Rule of Listening, How to Work a Room; and Business Networking through Social Media. Sales people, business owners, managers, as well as civic and non-profit organizations are encouraged to attend.
Holiday Inn of Xenia is donating the use of their facility. Committee chairpersons for the educational series are Alan Liming and Chrissy Roundtree, Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce; Gretchen Rives, Xenia Community Schools; and Linda Johnson, Greene Memorial Hospital.
Attendees may bring their own brown bag lunch; Holiday Inn of Xenia will provide drinks and desserts. Participants may also reserve a lunch at the Holiday Inn lunch buffet that features two entrees, two vegetables, salad and roll with dessert. Cost is $11 and must be reserved at the time of registration.
“We had almost 100 chamber members at our first free seminar featuring customer service,” says XACC President Alan Liming. “The chamber is dedicated to offering growth opportunities and information to our members to make our community even stronger. This seminar is our second in what we hope will be a long series of informative seminars.”
Featured speaker Gregg McGuire has been involved in the financial industry for over 25 years, including working in the banking industry as a commercial loan officer, vice president and regional manager for two large banks. McGuire’s experience also includes becoming a partner in a manufacturing distribution company with a financial services division operating as manager and CFO. Since that time, McGuire has been involved in multimillion dollar companies as president, chief financial officer, board member and consultant. McGuire’s business principles include the tried and true practices of tactical and strategic planning for growth and profitability.
McGuire also serves as an elder in his home church. He is currently serving on several ministry teams, such as strategic planning, mission leadership, praise and others. He is married and has two children. McGuire is committed to the promotion of value based leadership which reflects biblical principles at home, at church and at work. He is a certified consultant in financial, career and business coaching.

The seminar is free but reservations and pre-payment if necessary are required. Non-chamber members may attend for the nominal cost of $25.
