Cox Elementary School Students Create Holiday Ornaments for Soldiers Serving Overseas
XHS Vocal Music Department hosts 19th Annual Community Holiday Concert
The Xenia High School Vocal Music Department will present the 19th Annual Community Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 13, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 990 Old Springfield Pike. Two identical concerts will be presented. The first concert will begin at 3 p.m. The second concert will follow at 5:30 p.m.
A community tradition, the concert will feature 125 Xenia High School students, as well as soloist Brandon Rice; trumpet players John Harner, Bill Schumacher, and Tom Springer; organist Jeff Firestone; and pianist Raymode Rougier.
A group of XHS alumni and friends will also perform. The Xenia High
School Treble Choir, Tenor-Bass Choir, Varsity Choir, and Vocal Ensemble will present choral music of the season spanning the Renaissance era to the present.
The concert is free and open to the public.

Students at Cox Elementary School are using their crafting skills to brighten the holidays of soldiers serving overseas.
Students of Jennifer Statzer are creating snowman ornaments that will be sent with a Christmas tree from Statzers family tree farm. This is the second year Statzer's students and her family have participated. As part of the states Christmas tree growers association, numerous tree growers are donating trees to be shipped to military bases all over the world.
