Issue 6: Greene County Council on Aging
Replacement of 1 million over 5 years commencing in 2009 for operating expenses asking for a 0.2 mill increase that equates to a Greene County taxpayer approximately an additional $6.36 per year to maintain services to the elderly in order to provide services that help them maintain living on their own or with relatives with the Partners in Care (PIC) program.  These services include (but not limited to) delivered meals, adult day services, lifelines, and medicine management assistance.  Monies also help to provide grants to senior centers for transportation costs. Visit the levy website at www.friendsofgccoa.org for more information about the levy, services and grants provided, community impact and so on.

Issue 7: Greene County Library
The library is a fundamental resource of learning for everyone regardless of age.  It serves as a great tool and resource that currently compliments our educational facilities that are lacking on-site technological resources to educate our children.  This is a renewal of 1 million over 5 years commencing in 2010 for operating expenses.  No new taxes incurred.

Issue 28: Xenia Community Schools School District Bond Issue
The school board listened and heard the communities concerns.  This election will be the last opportunity our community has at to obtain 49% of matching funds from the State to improve the quality of those schools in most need.  Don’t let these free dollars go to another community, keep them here! Visit our web site - www.xenia.k12.oh.us - for more pertinent information about Issue 28.

Connie Wilcox, Chair of the Advocacy Committee expressed to the board that these issues are important to the community from a holistic aspect and provides balance to maintain a strong, healthy and educated destination for people to live, work and stay.  Dr. Lewis, Co-Chair indicated communities expect certain quality of life services and felt the board should further endorse these issues for the November 3rd election.  On October 20, 2009, the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously passed the recommendation and endorses Issues 5, 6, 7 and 28.  On behalf of the XACC Advocacy Committee, please utilize your right to vote and go to your assigned precinct on November 3rd and cast your ballot for issues important to you to maintain a strong community.

Sincerely,
Connie Wilcox
