Xenia Library Announces October Programs
Exciting and fun programs for people of all ages are being planned at the Xenia Community Library, 76 East Market Street.
October Story Times
Baby Story Time, for ages 6-24 months, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Monday, October 12, 19, 26, at 10 a.m. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
Preschool Story Time, for ages 4-5, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Wednesday, Oct 14, 21, 28, at 10 a.m. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
Toddler Story Time, for ages 2-3, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on

Family Story Time: Constellation Legends, for ages 3+, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Tuesday, October 6, at 6 p.m. Hear the ancient legends behind the constellations in the night sky. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
October Children’s Programs
Crafts from Outer Space, a program for ages 5-12, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Thursday, October 8, at 4 p.m. Make a fun craft with an outer space theme. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
Tween Book Club, for ages 9-12, will meet at the Xenia Community Library on Thursday, October 15, at 4 p.m. Discuss well-liked books. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
Leaf Pictures and Journals, a program for ages 5-12, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Thursday, October 22, at 4 p.m. Use some creativity to make pictures from dried leaves, and a journal to collect them in. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
Creepy Castles, a program for ages 5-12, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Thursday, October 29, at 4 p.m. Use cardboard tubes to create a creepy castle. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
October Teen Programs
(ages 12-18)
The Anime Club for ages 12-18 will meet at the Xenia Community Library on Tuesday, October 6, at 4 p.m. Watch anime and discuss favorites with other fans. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
The Teen Book Club for ages 12-18 will meet at the Xenia Community Library on Tuesday, October 13, at 4 p.m. Get together with friends and discuss well-liked books. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
A Teen Read Week Trivia Contest for ages 12-18 will be held at the Xenia Community Library October 18-October 24. See how many questions can be answered in the library’s “Read Beyond Reality” challenge.
Wii Got Game, for ages 12-18, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Tuesday, October 27, at 4 p.m. Fun and games with the PS2, Gamecubes, and Wii. Registration is required. Call 352-4000 x4.
October Adult Programs

Visions of the Universe: Four Centuries of Discovery, an exhibit for all ages, will be displayed at the Xenia Community Library during library’s hours of operation. Explore 400 years of astronomical discoveries at this free NASA-sponsored poster exhibit. Presented in celebration of the International Year of Astronomy.
Astronomy Night at the Xenia Library, for all ages, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Monday, October 5, at 7 p.m. (weather permitting). Boonshoft Museum of Discovery’s Cheri Adams will provide an introduction to astronomy and lead outdoor night sky observations.
Barbara Bailey Hutchinson, Grammy-winning singer of folk and children's music, will perform at the Xenia Community Library on Thursday, October 8, at 7 p.m.
Ghosthunting in Ohio and Beyond, for ages 18 and up, will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Tuesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. Join ghosthunter and author John Kachuba as he shares his adventures in the world of the paranormal. Kachuba is the author of Ghosthunters, Ghosthunting Ohio, and Ghosthunting Illinois.
GCPL Foundation Book Sale will be held at the Xenia Community Library on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, October 18, from 1 to 5 p.m. Items are $1 a bag on the 18th.
