Xenia Community Schools Hosts Ohio Summer Food Service Program at Area Parks and Other School News
Xenia Community Schools announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for children. Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under or persons 19-21 who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled.
Meals at the sites will be served Monday through Friday beginning June 22 to July 17, with the exception of July 3.
The meals will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability with no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Any person who believes he or she has been discriminated against in any USDA - related activity should write or call immediately to the U. S. Franklin Park, Dayton Ave. 11 a.m.
Spring Hill Park, Ormsby Dr. 11:30 a.m.

All meals must be eaten on-site; children's meals may not be given to an adult but adults may purchase a meal for $2.50.
Tecumseh Elementary School hosts “Tea” to thank volunteer families, students, community leaders
Volunteers from throughout the community were treated to a special “Tea” recently at Tecumseh Elementary School in appreciation for their gifts of time, talent or funds. A buffet was prepared by Tecumseh Elementary School Library Aide Lynn Engle and served by school staff members. Each volunteer received a small gift and Tecumseh Elementary School PTO officers received a gift for their garden. Following the buffet, the Tecumseh Character Choir performed for their group.
Amy Baldridge named new Xenia Community Schools Secondary Curriculum Supervisor
Amy Baldridge has been named the new Xenia Community School Secondary Curriculum Supervisor following the retirement of Joyce Smith.
Baldridge received her undergraduate degree in elementary education with a double major in Spanish from Bluffton College and her graduate degree in TESOL/multicultural education from the University of Findlay, as well as a graduate degree in educational administration/leadership from the University of Dayton.
She has taught at both Mohawk Local Schools and Sugarcreek Local Schools, as well as at the University of Dayton English Language Muticultural Institue (ELMI). She has also served as Bellbrook High School Assistant High School Principal and most recently as Greene County Career Center Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Baldridge is a member of the National Education Association, Ohio Education Association, Association of Career and Technical Education, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and Ohio Career Technical Administrators.
She received the Steve Clifton Memorial Award for Outstanding Administrative Leadership in the Educational Community of Greene County and the Greene County Howard Post Excellence in Education Award four times.
Jeff Keadle named Warner Middle School Assistant Principal
Warner Middle School (WMS) Intervention Specialist and Athletic Coordinator Jeff Keadle has been named the new WMS Assistant Principal beginning in the 2009-2010 school year.
Keadle received his undergraduate in education from Mid-America Bible College and his graduate degree/principal licensure from Antioch McGregor University.
He has served as a youth pastor at the Clifton Avenue Church of God, Springfield and Centerville Community Church; Greene County Juvenile Court Mentor; teacher/administrator, Heritage Christian School, Xenia; maintenance supervisor, Aramark Educational Resources; long-term special education substitute, WMS; and community support specialist, Integrated Youth Services, Beavercreek.
Keadle has training/certificates in nonviolent crisis intervention, learning specialists/international learning solutions and playground safety inspector.
He and his wife, Holly, reside in Beavercreek.
Betsy L. Wyatt named Xenia High School Assistant Principal for 2009-2010 school year
Betsy L. Wyatt has been named the new Xenia High School Assistant Principal beginning in the 2009-2010 school year.
Wyatt received her undergraduate degree in English and education from Arizona State University and her graduate degree in curriculum and instruction from the American Intercontinental University. She received her principal’s licensure from Antioch University McGregor and currently serves as an entry-year teacher mentor at Wright State University.
She has served as a teacher at Tecumseh Elementary School, Bethel Junior High School, Bellbrook High School and currently at
Fairborn High School.
She resides in Beavercreek.
Tracy L. Weissmann named as new Spring Hill Elementary School principal
Tracy L. Weissmann has been named the new principal of Spring Hill Elementary School following the naming of current principal Debra Herman as Xenia Community Schools Personnel Director.
Weissmann received her associate’s degree from Ocean County College and her undergraduate degree in communications from Muhlenberg College. She gained her teaching certification from the University of Cincinnati; graduate degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton; principal licensure, Miami University; and superintendent licensure, The Ohio State University.
She has served as district sales manager, Motherhood Maternity/Fashion Cents; first grade teacher, Oak Hill s Local Schools; third and fourth grade teacher, Miamisburg City Schools; Curriculum Supervisor, Montgomery County ESC; and most recently, State Support Team School Improvement Consultant and Coordinator of Alternative Programming, Montgomery County ESC.
She resides in Miamisburg.
